The Understudies
The Understudies Youth Theatre Program (UYTP) is affiliated with the Vermillion Community Theatre. Their mission is to encourage and promote youth interest and involvement in theatre throughout Vermillion. In close cooperation with VCT, we will strengthen youth performing skills. The UYTP is open to all Middle School and High School students wishing to participate in all aspects of theatre. UYTP and VCT would work together to encourage theatre, but UYTP will be its own branch of VCT, with a separate budget. The procedure of UYTP will be to pick the show and director, before turning it over to the director and becoming actors themselves. By doing this, we will give all adolescents the chance to participate in shows picked by themselves. The UYTP is a non-profit organization.
